Short answer

GoHighLevel AI is a set of AI tools built into every HighLevel account: Conversation AI answers texts and chats, Voice AI answers and makes calls, and Reviews AI, Content AI, Ask AI and AI agents cover the rest. You pay for it one of three ways per sub-account: pay-per-use by usage, AI Employee Growth at $50 a month, or AI Employee Unlimited at $97 a month.

For a sales team, Unlimited only pays for itself once your AI is on the phone for more than about 1,600 minutes a month on the cheapest voice, fewer once model tokens are counted. Below that, pay-per-use costs less. Phone charges are extra on every plan. Every price below comes from HighLevel's AI product pricing article and help center, checked October 23, 2026.

What is GoHighLevel AI?

GoHighLevel AI, which HighLevel just calls HighLevel AI, is the group of AI products inside the platform, from customer-facing chat and voice agents to tools that write workflows, pages and emails for your team. HighLevel's own AI tools overview lists 14 of them, counting the Knowledge Base and two prompt optimizers.

They split into two kinds. Conversation AI, Voice AI and Reviews AI talk to your customers. The rest mostly work for your team inside the account. We ran sales teams on GoHighLevel for five or six years, and for a sales floor the first kind is where the money and the risk sit.

GoHighLevel AI features

GoHighLevel's AI features are Conversation AI, Voice AI, Managed Agents, Agent Studio, Ask AI, Workflow AI, Content AI, Reviews AI and the AI page builders, and each one is priced on its own line on pay-per-use.

Tool What it does Pay-per-use price
Conversation AI Replies to leads by text and chat, qualifies, books Token cost
Voice AI Answers and makes phone calls, books appointments Per minute plus tokens
Managed Agents Agents that act on CRM events Token cost
Agent Studio Visual editor for flow-based agents Token cost, every plan
Ask AI In-app assistant for your team Token cost
Workflow AI Builds workflows from a prompt Free, premium actions $0.01
Content AI Writes posts, emails and images $0.063/image
Reviews AI Drafts or sends review replies $0.01 per reply
AI Studio, Funnel AI, Email AI Build pages, funnels and emails AI Studio by token, others free

GoHighLevel Ask AI

Ask AI is the assistant your team types or talks to inside HighLevel. It answers questions, pulls account data and can create or update records. Usage is counted in five-hour windows, and Unlimited gets three times Growth's allowance.

GoHighLevel Workflow AI

Workflow AI builds a workflow from a plain-language prompt for free, with a daily limit. Four premium actions inside workflows (Decision Maker, Intent Detection, Summarize Text and Translate) cost $0.01 each time they run, on every plan.

GoHighLevel AI Studio

AI Studio is a separate workspace for building websites, landing pages, forms and booking pages from a prompt. HighLevel marks it as a Labs feature.

GoHighLevel Conversation AI

GoHighLevel Conversation AI is a chat agent that answers leads on text and chat channels, answers common questions, qualifies contacts and books appointments. HighLevel's AI page lists SMS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and live chat.

It runs in three modes, per HighLevel's Conversation AI guide: Off, Suggestive (it drafts, a person sends) and Autopilot (it sends on its own). For a sales team we'd start in Suggestive. Reps reply faster, and nothing goes out that a person hasn't read.

On pay-per-use you pay tokens, which depend on the model and how long the chat runs. HighLevel's own example (100,000 tokens in, 25,000 out) costs $0.375 at GPT-5 rates. At GPT-5 Mini rates the same chat is $0.075. Growth covers 1,000 AI replies a month, then bills tokens. Unlimited has no cap, subject to fair use.

GoHighLevel AI receptionist

The GoHighLevel AI receptionist is Voice AI: an agent that answers your calls around the clock, qualifies callers and books them onto your calendar, from about $0.06 a minute plus phone charges on pay-per-use, or 100 minutes a month on Growth. The same agent can also make outbound calls from a workflow. How it stacks up against standalone services and phone-system add-ons is in our AI receptionist guide.

On pay-per-use, a Voice AI minute stacks three charges: a $0.045 voice engine fee, the voice itself ($0.015 for OpenAI or Cartesia, up to $0.17 for ElevenLabs V3) and the model's tokens. HighLevel bills speech-to-speech models as one all-in rate instead: $0.10 a minute on Gemini's live preview model or $0.20 on OpenAI's realtime model. Phone charges sit on top on every plan, including Unlimited, per HighLevel's AI Employee guide. At HighLevel's phone rates that's $0.01165 a minute in and $0.0166 out, with partial minutes rounded up (worked monthly bills are in our GoHighLevel AI voice agent guide).

GHL outbound AI calls

GoHighLevel's AI can make outbound calls too. Each sub-account can place up to 5,000 outbound AI calls a day, 10 a minute, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the contact's time zone, and the same number at most once a day, per HighLevel's outbound calling article. Platforms built for outbound bill differently; what Bland AI charges per call minute is a useful benchmark.

HighLevel also says it doesn't check a contact's consent before placing those calls. That's on you. The FCC ruled in 2024 that AI-generated voices count as an "artificial or prerecorded voice" under the TCPA, so these calls need the person's prior express consent, and written consent if the call is telemarketing, which sales and reactivation calls usually are (FCC 24-17). This isn't legal advice. Our guide to TCPA rules for sales calls has the rest, and our look at whether AI cold calling is legal covers AI outbound in more depth.

GoHighLevel AI agents

GoHighLevel AI agents are Managed Agents: you describe a job in plain words ("when a lead is tagged no-show, follow up and offer a new time"), and HighLevel builds an agent that runs on CRM triggers. Growth includes 100 runs a month and Unlimited 1,000. A run is one chat session, one trigger firing or one scheduled run.

GoHighLevel Agent Studio

Agent Studio is the visual, node-by-node editor for flow-based agents. HighLevel now recommends Managed Agents for new agents and keeps Agent Studio for maintaining old ones. Agent Studio is pay-per-use on every plan, so Unlimited doesn't cover it.

GoHighLevel Content AI

GoHighLevel Content AI writes social posts, blog posts, emails and website copy and makes images inside HighLevel's builders. It's unlimited on both AI Employee plans and costs $0.063 an image and $0.0945 per 1,000 words on pay-per-use. For a sales team it's the least useful of the set.

GoHighLevel Reviews AI

GoHighLevel Reviews AI drafts replies to your reviews and can post them on its own, with a Drip Mode that works through an old backlog slowly. On pay-per-use you pay $0.01 for each AI reply you send.

GoHighLevel AI Employee pricing

GoHighLevel AI Employee is HighLevel's flat AI plan: Growth at $50 a month or Unlimited at $97, billed per sub-account. Growth includes set allowances, and Unlimited removes the caps on Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI and Content AI, subject to a fair-use policy with no published numbers.

Three things the plan names don't tell you:

  1. It's per sub-account. A company with three brands in three sub-accounts pays three times.
  2. Overages keep running. By default no spending limit is set, and when one is, the default is to keep AI running and just notify you, per HighLevel's AI usage limits article. Set it to block if you want a hard stop.
  3. Unlimited isn't all-inclusive. Phone charges, Agent Studio, premium workflow actions, outside models used in workflows and Managed Agent runs past 1,000 a month still bill on top.

These sit on top of the GoHighLevel plan itself, $97 to $497 a month. The full bill, with calls and texts, is in our GoHighLevel pricing breakdown.

How much does GoHighLevel AI cost per month?

GoHighLevel AI costs $0, $50 or $97 a month per sub-account in plan fees, plus usage and phone minutes. What decides the plan is how many minutes your AI spends on the phone. Chat is cheap. Voice is where the plans split.

Bar chart of the Voice AI minutes a month at which AI Employee Unlimited at $97 beats pay-per-use: about 1,617 minutes with OpenAI or Cartesia voices, 1,213 with ElevenLabs V2.5, 970 on Gemini speech-to-speech, 485 on OpenAI realtime and 451 with ElevenLabs V3

Two worked months for one sub-account, using the cheapest voice ($0.06 a minute before tokens):

One month of AI calls Pay-per-use Growth ($50) Unlimited ($97)
After-hours receptionist, 300 inbound minutes $21.50 + tokens $65.50 + tokens $100.50
AI reactivation calls (with consent), 3,000 outbound minutes $229.80 + tokens $273.80 + tokens $146.80
Grouped bar chart of one month of GoHighLevel AI calls by plan: after-hours receptionist at 300 inbound minutes costs $21.50 plus tokens on pay-per-use, $65.50 plus tokens on Growth and $100.50 on Unlimited; reactivation calls at 3,000 outbound minutes cost $229.80 plus tokens, $273.80 plus tokens and $146.80

Each total includes the phone minutes ($3.50 inbound, $49.80 outbound). Tokens would only add to the pay-per-use and Growth columns. So a team using AI to catch missed calls should stay on pay-per-use, and a team running AI outbound at volume, with consent on file, should buy Unlimited. Growth rarely beats pay-per-use on usage alone. You buy it for a predictable bill, unlimited Reviews AI and Content AI, and the included Ask AI and AI Studio usage.

GoHighLevel AI alternative: build your own AI agent

The alternative to GoHighLevel AI is an agent you own, built on your own system, where you pay for hosting plus the phone line and the AI model at cost. It's worth it when AI is doing real work across a stack that already costs a few thousand a month. If GoHighLevel and its AI come in under $1,000 a month and fit how you sell, keep them.

An agent only knows what it can reach. If your calls run in a dialer bolted onto GoHighLevel, your pay in a spreadsheet and your deals in the CRM, no AI tool rented from any one of them sees the whole customer. We used Wavv as a dialer layer on top of GoHighLevel, and it was slow and laggy for exactly that reason: it sat above the CRM instead of inside it.

That's why we build the foundation first. One client's sales floor ran a per-seat dialer, a per-seat CRM, a scheduling tool and a Zap for about $4,500 a month for eight closers. We replaced all four with one system they own, with dialer, script, dispositions and pipeline on one screen, for about $300 a month in hosting. Read the case study. An AI agent built on that reads the real call history and pipeline. You own the agent, the scripts and the call data. The phone line and the AI minutes are utilities, billed at cost, and you can swap either vendor.

What it costs: typically less than you spend today, paid monthly, and the build payments have an end date. There are no seat fees, and you keep the code, the data and the IP. Here's how pricing works. Frequently asked questions

Does GoHighLevel have AI?

Yes. Every GoHighLevel plan includes HighLevel's AI tools: Conversation AI for texts and chats, Voice AI for calls, Reviews AI, Content AI, Ask AI, Workflow AI, AI Studio and AI agents. Some are free, and the rest are billed by usage or through the $50 or $97 AI Employee plans.

What is the GoHighLevel AI Employee?

AI Employee is the name of HighLevel's two flat AI plans, Growth at $50 a month and Unlimited at $97, charged per sub-account. They cover Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI and Content AI up to each plan's limits. Without one, the same tools bill pay-per-use.

How much does GoHighLevel AI cost per month?

Nothing up front on pay-per-use, $50 on AI Employee Growth or $97 on AI Employee Unlimited, per sub-account. Phone charges for AI calls are extra on every plan, and Agent Studio is always billed by usage.

Is there a better alternative to GoHighLevel?

For AI specifically, the alternatives are a dedicated AI voice platform on top of your CRM, or an agent built on your own system that reads your real customer data. Teams spending a few thousand a month across a CRM, dialer and AI tools are the ones for whom owning usually pays.
